To host a comic, the creator grants only the permission needed to store, display, distribute, and promote that submitted edition on the service. That permission ends after removal, subject to reasonable backup retention.
Review is not a rights claim
Content review checks whether a submission follows platform rules. Approval does not make Weekly Comic Studio the author or owner of the comic.
What the publication record can show
Each accepted revision keeps its submission time, source project identifier, revision number, and a digital fingerprint of the submitted package. That record can support a timeline showing when this exact revision reached the platform, but it does not by itself prove authorship, settle ownership, or replace formal registration.
Copyright and ideas
In the United States, copyright protection generally begins when original expression is fixed in a tangible form. It protects the work's expression, not the underlying idea or concept. See the U.S. Copyright Office copyright FAQ and its guidance for visual artists. Registration can provide important additional legal benefits.
Publish work you have the right to share
Submissions are screened for recognizable third-party characters, artwork, logos and dialogue. Possible matches and incomplete screening go to human review. Fan art, renaming a recognizable character, or claiming a license does not automatically clear a submission. Provide the exact permission or public-domain source when requested. Automated approval is not a legal guarantee, and reported work may be removed after review.

App-only submissions
The website will not provide a general comic upload form. Publication packages must come through Weekly Comic Studio, pass package validation, and enter review before becoming visible.
